Requirements
       We recommended the Garaxi Chat with JRE bundled in case that you're not sure you already installted Java or maybe you don't know how to install Java. Because it easy and save your time. (Fixed bugs for Redhat 9 and Fedora Core)

       If the things went wrong, you couldn't install GaraxiChat on Linux,FreeBSD we recommend you with the plain install version

       For Redhat Enterprise Edition, CPanel, please download IBM Java from IBM and choose Garaxi Chat without Java bundled. Because Redhat EN uses the old libc that won't work with modern JVM from Sun and Blackdown. IBM Java may be found here

       Java friendly Operating System such as Windows NT/2000/XP,Linux,FreeBSD etc.with JDK or JRE 1.2.2 or higher installed. Available JDK or JRE for free at here

       Dedicated or Shared server that allow you to run Java application. (You don't need to worry if you possess your own server, but if you using shared server please consult your server hosting provider.

       For Linux,FreeBSD or Unix OS you need shell account that you can run setup command.

       150 MHz or more with 64MB RAM or better. Ideally more CPU and more memory will be better. However it's depend on how many concurrent users that you want to serve.

       Sure! you need GaraxiChat 2.2

       You also need "documentation" for install and configuration

       Demo version can serve maximum 10 concurrent users you can use it as long as you want in your production server without charge.

Install on Windows is simple just setup. Suppose you has been installed GaraxiChat Service. Start GaraxiChat by
Start -> Programs -> Administrative tools -> Services
Select "GaraxiChat 2.2" and start it.
Copy or move "[INSTALL_PATH]/client" directory to your web. Modify your own code for chat applet.

Invoke the installation utlities
$ ./setup.run
Follow the setup instruction. Start chat server by invoke
$ [INSTALL_PATH]/bin/garaxichat start
Stop by
$ [INSTALL_PATH]/bin/garaxichat stop
Copy or move "[INSTALL_PATH]/client" directory to your web. Modify your own code for chat applet.

Next, download and extract the file (We recommend you move the installation file to "/usr/local" before extract it.

$ cp garaxichat-2.2-plain.tar.gz   /usr/local

$ zcat garaxichat-2.2-plain.tar.gz | tar xvf -

Copy/upload directory "client" to your web server's directory where you can access via HTTP protocol.
Use your favorite editor (I always use "vi") open the file "server/bin/garaxichat" and edit the path of SERVER_DIR and JAVA_HOME if you didn't extract file to /usr/local

Start chat server by invoke
$ /usr/local/garaxichat/bin/garaxichat start
or
$ [INSTALLED_PATH]/bin/garaxichat start

Stop by
$ /usr/local/garaxichat/bin/garaxichat stop or
$ [INSTALLED_PATH]/bin/garaxichat stop
